I became interested in the dental field early in my teen years as my neighbor, also named Christi, worked as a dental assistant. I wanted to be just like her and decided to pursue dental hygiene. After graduating from the University of Colorado School of Dentistry with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science-Dental Hygiene, life took us to Cleveland, Ohio and Albuquerque, NM so Peter could complete his education as a dentist. During this time I was fortunate to have worked in general dentistry and a periodontal practice, focusing on periodontal disease and periodontal surgery.
I have been in dentistry for exactly half my life and am so fortunate to love my profession! I love my job! Cleaning teeth is just a tiny part of my job. Educating people, looking at the mouth from the most technologically advanced views, treating and preventing periodontal disease, discussing nutrition with those ages 2-102, preventing decay, and being an integral part of developing a treatment plan with Dr. Roukema and Dr. Campbell is what I love most. When I am not wearing the hat of a dental hygienist, I put the business hat on and manage the business side of the practice. I love to grow, lead, and develop all of the different parts of the practice and coach our staff in having a team-centered approach to dentistry. We have a lot of fun, not only in the office, but out in the community too!
I am the proud mama of our four children: Hannah, Max, Sam, and Ben. When I am not at work, I love being at home with them. We are a true Colorado family that loves to ski, mountain bike, hike, paddleboard, ride ATVs, camp, and wake up to wildlife in our yard. I may have been known to do a few triathlons and half marathons and love a good CrossFit workout when I can get it!
