I am Amber and most likely the first person you see when you walk in the door at Pagosa Peak Family Dentistry. I have worked with Dr. Campbell and Dr. Roukema for 4 ½ years and have spent the last ten years in the roles of a dental assistant and office manager. My love for dentistry started when I was a patient, funny enough! In my early 20s I had baby teeth still present, a spacy smile filled with lots of gaps, and I wanted it fixed. As I investigated correcting my smile, I was faced with treatment plans well over $70,000. As I went through the process as a patient, I learned a lot and found out that I might like working in the dental field. I completed an internship in a general practice and was able to get a job and the smile that I love! That opportunity started my love for all that dentistry has to offer.
As you might guess, I love helping people attain smiles they are proud of too. A few of the things that we value most in our office are kindness, honesty, and unity. With my experience as a dental assistant, I make sure things are running smoothly and efficiently throughout the office.
My husband and I moved to Pagosa Springs nearly 5 years ago from Texas. My Mom once lived here about fifty years ago. She loved it and would tell stories about chasing waterfalls, and climbing mountains. Naturally, when my husband and I visited, we loved it too! We like to spend time outdoors, camping and playing with our dog. In my free time, I have a passion for oil painting, watercolor, lasering/engraving, gardening, and might hit up a video game once in a while.
My name is Brie, yep, spelled like the cheese! I am the patient coordinator in our office. That title fits me well, because my favorite part of my job is the patients I am privileged to meet. I have been in dentistry for about ten years now. I started as a receptionist and later received training as a dental assistant. Later in my career, I transitioned to the front desk again and found that I like being part of all the behind the scenes action that makes the practice succeed.
I am a Colorado native and am proud to call Pagosa Springs my home. I grew up in the Durango area, and my husband and I have decided to raise our family here. Outside of work, I like to cook and try my eye at photography. My true passion is with my two young kids. Watching them experience the world is not only fun, but truly an amazing experience as their mom.
Early in our marriage in 2005, my husband and I bought land here and dreamt of one day living in Pagosa Springs. Finally, we made that dream a reality, and here we are!
I joined the practice in the beginning of 2022 and have been in dentistry for over 20 years. I have always been one to notice people’s smiles. I have worked as a dental hygienist for the past eighteen years and have always been one to help people brighten their smiles and help them achieve the smiles they have always hoped for. My favorite part of being a dental hygienist is the unique relationships I have with patients and the impact I can have on helping them improve their overall health by caring for their mouths. I value the Golden Rule and strive to have honesty and integrity in everything I do and am grateful to have found a practice that values these things too.
Our family transitioned here from Farmington, NM and truly enjoys living in the mountains of Colorado. We have three growing children and are in the home building business as well. When we are not working on my husband’s latest build or at the office, I enjoy running, biking, kayaking, and spending time around all the water we are so fortunate to live by. We have tried to instill the value of working hard with our kids and enjoy spending time playing with family and friends in beautiful Pagosa Springs!
I am a dental hygienist and love being outdoors, perfect for this place! I am originally from New York and have been in dentistry for the past 40 years. I was fortunate to work with Dr. Ehni, another long-time, valued dentist in town. When she retired, I transitioned over to working with Dr. Campbell and Dr. Roukema. I became interested in dentistry a long time ago and had a relative in the dental field. My favorite part of my job is meeting people of every walk of life; it truly is fascinating.
I came upon Pagosa Springs once, by way of a timeshare and couldn’t wait to return. I like spending time outdoors and in my free time, I have a hobby of restoring furniture.
My name is Casey and I am one of the four dental assistants at Pagosa Peak Family Dentistry. I have been a dental assistant for nearly 6 years and find great fulfillment in helping people transform their smiles. I believe a person’s smile can say so much about him or her. I also like to educate people about their mouths and possibly impact their overall health.
Seeking a small town, my family moved from Virginia to Pagosa when I was two years old. I grew up here and am grateful to live in such a beautiful place. In my spare time, I am one of the lucky ones who has family right here in town and love spending time with them. When I am not working, I like to be outdoors hunting, fishing, camping, and tending to my array of assorted pets.
My name is Terri, and I am a dental assistant. I am a Colorado native and recently moved back home to Colorado. I have been in dentistry since 1986 and have a niche for working with people and meeting new faces. I became interested in dentistry at an early age when I was going to the orthodontist every month for adjustments! I remember his staff always being happy and having fun, so I decided that I wanted a career like that too. I love what I do and strive to make patient appointments fun and comfortable so they can leave having had a good experience in our office!
My husband and I previously lived in a big city and wanted to get back to a small town in Colorado. Pagosa checked all the boxes, and now we enjoy going on jeep rides and gardening in the backyard of our new home. I am an animal lover at heart and like to be creative in the things I do. I also enjoy spending time with my family as the adopted mother of two and look forward to visits from soon to be eight grandchildren.
Last year, if you would have told me that in a year I would be a dental assistant, I wouldn’t have believed you! I am very new to dentistry and came to this job seeking understanding and actually having a fear of dentists. I wanted to learn about the mouth and the body in hopes that it would help me calm my own fear. So far, so good! I enjoy the synergy of science and artistry. In this setting, I have found that I enjoy helping others and making others with the same fear be more at ease.
Originally from Michigan, I moved to the Wolf Creek area for the heavy snow and dreamy winters! I initially stumbled upon Pagosa Springs on a road trip with the intention of visiting the hot springs and hiking. I quickly realized that I could ski, hike, garden, kayak, do a little bit of photography, blend teas, and enjoy different arts and crafts all right here! That was it–I moved! I have found a life where I can continue to seek inner peace and resilience while being a compassionate and empathetic person. Additionally, I have found my own little family which includes Jake and our two dogs: Thelma and Louise.
I have recently discovered that I am a fast learner, and I enjoy learning new skills! I moved to Pagosa Springs and am now a dental assistant. As I continue to advance my education and skills, I am able to use my work ethic and attention to detail in helping to keep our patients’ smiles healthy.
Following my family to Pagosa Springs was a good choice. I like to spend my time doing art, tattooing, fishing, and being outdoors. The best advice I have ever been given was “You can’t base your worth on someone else’s opinion.”
